Yesterday

I’ve enjoyed some time off from work and posting, but during that time God has opened the flood gates and I can’t wait to share all that He is showing me.

Today, I read in that faithful friend, “My Utmost for His Highest” the last post of the year.  I want to share a few excerpts with you and pray that it brings you the peace it brought me.

Yesterday

Security from yesterday: At the end of the year we turn with eagerness to all that God has for the future, and yet anxiety is apt to arise when we remember our yesterdays.  Our present enjoyment of God’s grace tends to be lessened by the memory of yesterday’s sins and blunders.

But God is the God of our yesterdays and he allows the memory of them to turn the past into a ministry of spiritual growth for our future.

I know for me, there were some “blunders” of 07 I’d like to forget.  But this reminds me what God says is true, that He works ALL things for His glory… even the mess ups… into a ministry of spiritual growth for our future.

What are some of the blunders you’d like to see turn into “ministries of spiritual growth” that God is developing in you for 08?

Jimmy–that takes guts! Nothing like out with the old! I pray God gives you fresh things to write this year!
Erin–I’m glad this helped! I agree… enough of caring what people think… they don’t anyway!
