I love to eat. No really…
There’s something about the satisfying taste of food that brings me a sense of comfort. For many of you who know my story , you know it was this love, no obsession, for food that caused many of my problems.
Eating numbed my pain. It was my escape. It was my reward. But as God grew me, I learned a lot about the little word: EAT
Eating simply means: to consume completely. It is the assimilation of energy. When you eat something it becomes a part of you. It is fuel for your body.
After realizing I had put food above God He taught me the same definition for food should be applied to Him. He should be the one who numbs my pain. He should be my escape. He is my reward.
I can “eat” of God by spending time with Him, reading His word, and allowing Him to renew my mind. It is the assimilation of His energy, making Him a part of me that fuels my body, mind and soul.
Jesus says: I am the Bread of Life. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
Have you ever struggled with eating? Do you see the connection to our relationship with Christ? What is your favorite food?
