I’m super excited about this coming fall semester!

September 10th is our big event at SWITCH (we’re expecting 1000 students) Come help us out that night!

I bought a house!  Closing date is August 27th.  Want to come help me move?

Cody and I are having so much fun together! See?

Pretty much the best boyfriend ever…

I was working out at the gym the other day and glanced at myself in the mirror.  (Ok, I was totally checking myself out and seeing if what I was doing made me look good, or stupid.)  Come on, you know you do it too!

What I saw was a shock!  I was standing right where two mirrors come together and distort the reflection they hold.  I looked fifty pounds heavier than I really am!  It was a flash back of the past and I quickly moved a little to my right losing the fifty pounds instantly. 

It’s all how you look at things…

Over the weekend my good friend’s girlfriend was in a wreck.  Veering off to the right she over-corrected, turning herself completely around and hitting an electrical pole.  It took the rescue workers a while before they could safely remove her from the car.  We waited impatiently behind the ambulance, praying for safety, as the workers delicately managed around down power lines.  Except for a few cuts and scrapes she was unharmed.  (She should’ve died by the look of the car.)  Seeing the rescue workers in action, and our friend trapped in a mangled mess of metal, made me stop and think.  I’ve never been on that side of a wreck before, never been close enough to the person to offer up urgent prayers for their safety.   I’m usually on the other side: frustrated that a flashing cop car is blocking my rout, mad that the traffic jam will make me late, offering no prayer for the people who may be affected by an unexpected tragedy.  It reminded me again, that the world does not revolve around me.   It gave me some perspective…  Have you ever had something happen that changed your perspective? Have you ever been in a wreck, seen a wreck, called the cops for a wreck?

I was reading the other day and came across this:

“After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.”–Acts 1:3

I was hit with the thought that most likely God still shows Himself and gives many convincing proofs that He is alive… we just have to be looking…
