I express my thanks in words a lot. I know words aren’t as good as actions, but I really like to take people by surprise by thanking them for things they don’t really expect you to. And I like to look them in the eyes and say thank you but then I go beyond and say why I’m so thankful. For instance if I have a really good checker at a store I say thank you so much especially for being quick and bagging my cold things together. Dorky huh? But people love to be appreciated!
