How do you make decisions?

A long time ago, a youth pastor of mine taught me the best way to make decisions. I was a Jr. in High school at the time and getting ready to make a bunch of decisions that would pave the course for the rest of my life. Here’s what he told me:

“When making a decision, pray. Which ever choice God gives you peace with, go with that decision.”

It has guided me through my life ever since. Any time I need to make a decison, I pray, wait, and see where the peace lays. I usually know pretty quickly what I need to do.

So, how do you make decisions?

I pray, but I also think God uses a few trusted people in my life. To be honest, I run all major decisions by at least one of my parents. They haven’t been wrong yet! I have learned that my dad is incredibly wise and discerning and my mom just has incredible instincts.

I couldn’t agree more… The Bible says with many advisers plans succeed!

I stress about it for a good amount of time, run it past anyone who will listen and then FINALLY pray about it and feel at peace… maybe I should try that whole praying thing first?

    Kara–It really does help!

Anna, you are so awesome. You can always make decisions that way because of your sensitivity to God’s voice and His leading. You have always had the spiritual maturity and the heart to hear God clearly.

I always seek God and discuss with my wife (which is really seeking God through her gifts and perspective).
