You’ve Got a Friend in Me–2

My friend Jeremy… Wow, what do you say about someone like Jeremy? I can tell you one thing: in my search for pictures of him I couldn’t find ONE that didn’t have someone else in it. But that’s Jeremy… He’s probably one of the most selfless people I’ve ever met. He’s always ready to help anyone who needs it, no matter the cost to himself.

But that’s not the lesson I’ve learned from Jeremy. Through Jeremy’s natural and amazing gift of connecting with others he’s taught me the important lesson to always:

  • Focus on others

Jeremy’s people skills are truely amazing. One time I watched him walk into a room, and saw him say hello, and shake every person’s hand in the room, before he made it to his destination. Jeremy will always have time to talk to you, and when he does, his genuineness truly disarms any bariers people put up.

I only aspire to have the personal skills Jeremy displays everyday. His focus truly is on others, and because of that I am lucky to call him my friend, and my brother.

What about you? Do you find yourself focusing on others, or thinking more about yourself? Do you know Jeremy? What do you think about him?

jeremy…such a cool guy! :) it really is amazing to witness his people skills! how did we get blessed w/ such amazing people in our life group?
jeremy actually taught me another lesson: not to judge a book by it’s cover. when i first met him, it was a little hard for me to see past the “cool” image he gives off {probably unconsciously, on his part}…but the more i watched him, the more i could see his heart for others shining through so obviously.

  • I KNEW this one would be about Jeremy. He calls me “Mama Meadows” :) He’s an overcomer who is passionate about his changed life and wants anyone caught in bondage to be set free. I love him too! Yep….great people skills, a wonderful smile. Too bad all my daughters are already taken! 😉

Who doesn’t love Jeremy? I love how he leads by connecting to and caring about the people around him.

Jeremy is truly the description of a selfless person. He wants everyone to have a good time for Jesus when they are at SWITCH and leads by example for all the kids. He is one fantastic person and I feel truly lucky to know him. Even if I did annoy him when we first met, hehe.

Abi–I agree… our lifegroup is the BOMB!
Robin–I wanted to put something in the post about how much Jeremy has overcome, but didn’t want to make it too long! If anyone wants to read Jeremy’s testimony, I’m sure he’d be willing to send it to you. (Of course you will want to be prepared to be there for a while… it is long, but awesome what God did in his life!) 😉 you know I have to give him a hard time for that!
Hope–He is a great leader beacuse of how much he cares for the people who follow him!
Lulu–I agree. He definately leads by example. If he’s asked anyone to do something, you can be sure, he’s doing it right alongside them!

I think the best thing you can say about Jeremy is if you had a choice of friends, Jeremy would be one of the first chosen. But as new of a Christ-follower as he is, it is his desire and compassion for others that shines through.
