I know this is almost too late. Amber and I talked a while back about what we remember about the day and we really dont remember too much of anything. We were so exhausted. Dont let the ceremony and pomp become bigger than the moment of "I do". Of everything planned the only things I remember was when the doors opened in the back and I saw my bride. Due to the revoking of my man card I hesitate to say I got teary eyed. The other thing I remember was saying "I do". I am excited for you two.

If your spouse does or says something that hurts your feelings tell them as soon as possible. Don't let it fester. They may not even be aware it happened. Men have thick skulls when it comes to all that feelings stuff. (grin)

I HIGHLY recommend the books "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" and "The Love List"...Andrew and I are working through the second one right now, and the first one will really help you and Cody understand the major differences between how men and women handle stuff. I also recently read "The Surrendered Wife" which is sort of a how-to regarding submission. All of those are available at the local library. :)

Good thoughts. I like what you say about becoming an expert on all things related to your spouse. I once had someone tell me (speaking about development) that development is about getting an PhD in whoever you're leading... we also talked about how this applies to husbands and wives... get a PhD in your husband or wife, and you will be better off! Thanks for the reminder!

It's important to have a willingness to be wrong sometimes. (maybe this is harder for the guy, right?)

Be an expert on all things related to your spouse, and make time to talk. Talk, talk, talk, talk... I'm constantly amazed at how many couples in my office for counseling, just don't ever talk to each other.
