Stay Healthy on the Go…
Take Five!
I hear it all the time! “I don’t have time to work out!”
Maybe you don’t have an hour to spend on the treadmill, but you do have five minutes!
Take five minutes and do one of the following:
Pushups for five minutes (as many as you can)
Sit ups or crunches for five minutes (maximum reps!)
Squats for five minutes
You’ll be amazing what five minutes does for you. Don’t believe me? Try it!
Take five!
Stay Healthy on the Go…
Pour 1/2 a cup of Egg Substitute into a mug
Cut up one wedge of Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese, into eggs and stir.
Put in the microwave for 35 seconds. Take out and stir.
Cook in microwave for another 35 seconds and enjoy! I know I did. I almost forgot to take a picture of the finished product I was so excited to eat it!
Stay Healthy on the Go…
I haven’t been blogging a lot lately. My life has been a little busy over the last couple months. But I want to share some tips this week that have helped me stay on track even when life seems out of control!
Bag It Up
I love fruit. Not only is it sweet and tasty it is an amazingly healthy snack that keeps me on track. Since I’m always on the go it’s hard to keep a variety of fruit close at hand, and easy to grab as I’m heading out the door. To fix that problem, I take the opportunity of a free night to do a little chopping.
Buy a carton of strawberries and after washing them slice them into pieces. (Eat with yogurt for a yummy, healthy snack!)
Divide pieces into little baggies and store in refrigerator.
Do the same with a bundle of grapes.
Add apples or plums or peaches and you have a nice variety of fruit to grab as you’re heading out the door!
Mid-Year Resolutions
Most people have beginning of the year goals: AKA new years resolutions. These resolutions last about 2 weeks and are often forgotten. Because of that I’d like to make a few mid-year goals. Want to join me?
2009 Mid year goals:
Physical: It might be funny to say, but I’d really like to I WILL get into a two-piece bathing suit this summer. I’ve never worn a two-piece and been comfortable in it. This year is the year to be different. I would like to reach this goal by June 15th.
Financial: I’d like to I WILL pay off my car by the end of the year—December 2009
Writing: I WILL have the first draft of my book written by December 2009. (If I don’t I will lose my brand new MAC book given to me from an influential person in my life! That was the deal!) I WILL have the first chapter written by April 15th.
Ministry: I WILL be revamping my website to upload videos and get on a speakers rotation so that I can have more opportunities to speak. This will happen by July 2009.
What about you?
Do you have some mid-year goals you’d like to share? Writing them out raises the percentage you will reach them! Share!
Red Bud Classic…
I just registered for the Oklahoma City Red Bud Classic. This year I’ll be running the 10k–which is 6.1 miles. This will be a good warm up for the Memorial Marathon coming up at the end of April.
The cool thing about the Red Bud is that it is easy enough that even first time runners can participate. They have a 5K (3 mile) run as well as a 5K walk. They even have a 2 mile stroller walk! If you’d like to be a part of the Red Bud this year, click on the link above and register!
My friend and team member @tonycobb will be doing the 5k this year! So proud of him! What about you?
